Students Who Achieve Greatness: our high school academic re-engagement program resulting from a partnership between L.I.P., the County of San Mateo, and Sequoia Union High School District.
Our college scholarship and support program, the College Initiative has resulted in a graduation rate 6x higher than the national average for students in our demographic.
As EPA fights to maintain its historical identity amid growing gentrification and displacement, the L.I.P. Studio aims to preserve the city's ongoing cultural and artistic legacy.
Announcing our first L.I.P. Legacy Project
StreetCode Academy was launched in 2014 in order to better connect East Palo Alto to the surrounding tech economy. It is Live In Peace's first Legacy Project, having rolled out into its own tech training organization under the leadership of Olatunde Sobomehin. We place an extremely high value on StreetCode’s ability to build bridges, train EPA youth in tech & entrepreneurship, and create pathways for economic empowerment, while staying culturally rooted. In order for East Palo Alto to thrive economically as well as culturally the work of StreetCode Academy is essential. We are extremely proud to have incubated this organization and thrilled by its growth. We remain closely involved as part of the StreetCode Board of Directors and partners in our shared vision for the community.
